The old stone, arched bridge, between two waterfalls in Palaiokaria, Trikala prefecture, Thessaly, Greece. This kind of stone, arched bridges are quite common in the Greek mainland, especially in Epirus, Thessaly and Macedonia. Most of them are between 200 and 500 years old, and most of the were build by specialized builders from Epirus that were traveling in caravans. This particular bridge connects the two banks of Portaikos river. Its arch has a width of 18,60 m. Its height is 10,30 m and its total length 26,50 m. According to local oral tradition it was constructed in the 15th century. No written data.
