This photograph shows the upper reaches of the River Ebble in the Chalke Valley west of Salisbury in Wiltshire. This section of the river is a good example of a 'winterbourne' or 'bourne', a stream that flows during the winter but usually dries up during the summer. This photograph was taken in April after winter rains.
