The small settlement of Harvey Vale (population 750) and the sheltered anchorage of Tyrel Bay are located at the southern end of Carriacou. A number of wooden shops and restaurants are seen along the main road linking the bay-side settlement to the rest of Carriacou. The 'Old Rum Shop and Restaurant', seen here, is a small wooden building, across the road from the wide sandy beach and visited by people using Tyrel bay as a yacht anchorage. Local island cuisine is served.
