Aspidistra, Lurida—Useful foliage plant, with deep green leaves, and remarkable for producing its flowers under the ground. " Lurida Variegata—A variety of the preceding, having foliage marked with broad stripes of Banana—Abysinian (Musa ensete) Banana, Abysinian (Musa Ensete)—The most gigantic of the genus, with leaves sixteen feet long and four feet wide, of a bright green color.
