Mongolian imbeciles are particularly prone to blepharitis, adenoidvegetations, and attacks of nasal catarrh, bronchitis, and broncho-pneumonia. A large number die of pulmonary tuberculosis. Theassociation of congenital heart disease and other malformations withthis form of imbecility has already been mentioned. Mentally, these children show some variation into grades of a rule they are happy-looking children, affectionate, often jealous,easily irritated, mischievous, fond of music, and showing a defectivepower of attention.
