Baarle Hertog or Baerle Duc, a Belgian Dutch village, is a border feature and an administrative curiosity. Part of the Belgian village is enclosed in Dutch territory: unable to define a clear frontier, the authorities decided in 1843 to grant a nationality to each house on the basis of the land registry parcels. The result is a fragmented territory with 30 different enclaves between the 2 countries, we constantly go from one country to another in this particular village. The delimitation of the border is indicated by marks, crosses on the ground. The situation became more complicated with the COVID 19 outbreak and the restrictions that are not the same between the two: cafe terraces are open on the Dutch side
