Kari Steele, president of the board of commissioners for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, signs a ceremonial copy of the project partnership agreement between the Corps and MWRD Jan. 31. The MWRD received $ million in federal funds under authority of Section 1043 of the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2014, which allows federal funds to transfer through the Army Corps of Engineers to local sponsors for authorized projects.
