The next morning four companies and headquarters of theSecond were transferred to tbe transport Orizaba, the com-panies being G, B, K and D. The transport already had onboard the Eighth and Twent3^-second regular infantry, andas a result our boys were crowded about on the decks andcompelled to sleep anywhere they could. The officers werecrowded into the staterooms and their experiences on theOrizaba were not mucli more enjoyable than those of themen.
