Southern yellow-billed hornbill (Tockus leucomelas) in flight. During flight, it alternates short gliding periods with heavy wing beats. This hornbill feeds mainly on the ground, where it forages for seeds, small insects, spiders, scorpions, termites and ants. It is commonly found in the dry thorn fields and broad-leafed woodlands of southern Africa. Photographed in the Zimanga private game reserve in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.
