In the Starred Phloxes the pointed central teeth of the petals (five in number) are five to six times as long as the lateral ones, and pro- ject beyond them like little an inch long, giviDg the flowers a distinctly marked, regular star-like form, the beauty of which is enhanced by the broad white margins border- ing the edges of the petals. The Starred Phloxes also embrace more than twenty colors, so that our Ex- tra Fine Mixed Seed com- prises more than forty- varieties of this unique and strikingly beautiful strain.
