Shoulder anatomy. Artwork of an oblique left anterior view from above of muscles (red), ligaments (white), cartilage (grey) and bones of the shoulder. The head of the humerus (upper arm bone) and the scapula (shoulder blade) articulate at this joint. The clavicle (collar bone) is at left, with the ribs and spine. Muscles include the supraspinatus (upper right) on top of the scapula. The tendon attached to the coracoid process (centre) is for the short head of the biceps brachii. The tendon at lower right is for the long head of the biceps brachii, passing over the head of the humerus through the intertubercular groove.
