The superintendent, ofthis school, Mr. John R. Adams, saysThe movement was at the beginningthoroughly opposed, but now there is no objection evidenced and a prop-osition to go back to the old ways would not be entertained at all. Inplace of a six and seven months school year, all of the schools of thetownship now have nine months Centralized Country School Building, Green Township, Trumbull County, Ohio, erected 1900. To this school are brought all the children of the township and nine wagons are employed in tne transportation. A still more striking example of what consolidation has accomplishedin northwestern Ohio is found in the schools of Green township, TrumbullCounty. It will amply repay an interested enquirer to visit and investigatethis place not only as to the general methods in rural school work but asan example of what may be done. It would almost make a convert of themost doubtful to the plan. The school building is a handsome brickstructure, slate roofed, steam heated, with the most improved seats inall the rooms, musical instruments, library, etc. It is located in the exactgeographical center of the township, which is a distinctly rural com-munity, with only the school building and a church.
