The Great Seal of the Realm, used to show the monarch's approval of important State documents for joint monarchs, William III (1650-1702), also widely known as William of Orange, King of England, Ireland and Scotland from 1689 until his death in 1702 and informally known as "King Billy". And Mary II (1662-1694) was Queen of England, Scotland, and Ireland, co-reigning with her husband and first cousin, King William III until her death in 1694. Popular history refers to their joint reign as that of William and Mary who became king and queen regnant following the Glorious Revolution.
