08/05/2022 Tilbury UK Luxury cruise ship Viking Star made her debut on the River Thames this morning berthing at London International Cruise Terminal (Tilbury). The 228m cruise ship joined Viking Ocean Cruises’ fleet in 2016 and is the lead ship of the Viking Star Class. The cruise ship is powered by hybrid engines, collects solar energy, and has sophisticated filtration to remove pollutants from her exhaust as well as using sea water to lubricate the ship’s propeller drive shafts. Viking Star’s upper deck has a silver dollar welded in place for good luck.
