Ruins of a Byzantine church at the archaelogical site of Baqirha in northern Syria, near the Turkish border. The cities were built around the 6th century AD and then mysteriously abandoned. Farmers now grow barley amongst the ruins. The site has nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
