Van Camp Hardware and Iron Co.—Wholesale Hard-ware; 78, 80 and 82 South Illinois street.—The Van Camp Hardwareand Iron Company, which is in every respect a representativeestablishment, was organized in 1885, as successor to the firm ofHanson & Van Camp Co., established in 1876, when they succeededto the wholesale hardware house of Anderson, Bullock & the iron industry of Mayo & Bergundthal, both large andinfluential enterprises dating their origin back many years. Theyoccupy an elegant four-story and basement brick block erected forthe uses to which they are at present devoted, and equipped with allrequisite conveniences and facilities for the storage and display ofstock, as also for the prompt filling and shipment of orders. OnChesapeake street and near the rear portipn of the main store, is awell-ordered warehouse one story in height and 60x100 feet in dimen-sions, for heavy goods. They carry very large and comprehensive. lines of stock of imported and domestic manufacture of standardqualities, and in all respects meeting the requirements of the embrace shelf and heavy hardware, wagon and carriagemakers wood and iron work and supplies, tin plate and tinners stock,gims and revolvers and equipments, mechanics tools and appliancesof every description, table and pocket cutlery, bar and sheet iron,steel and other lines appertaining. The house is the largest of itskind in the State, and one of the leading ones in the country. Theofficers are men of large interests, and experienced and publicspirited merchants and citizens. Mr. Cortland Van Camp, thePresident, also conducts in conjunction with his father and brothers,the Van Camp Packing Co., of this city, packers of fruits andvegetables and the largest canners of tomatoes in the world. Theremaining officers are H. G. Carey,Vice-President,
