Enamel plate advertising anthracite, a high quality coal. It is an exhibit at La Maison du Mineur, La Grand' Combe.

Much of the coal that was produced in the coalfields around La Grand' Combe was of high quality. Of these anthracite was the best. It is a high grade coal with a high calorific value. Large reserves of anthracite still exist in the area, awaiting a time when it becomes economically viable to extract them. The museum is housed in part of the old Puits Ricard mine. All of the artefacts in the museum are of the region and have been collected to save them from destruction. The museum has been granted “Monument Historique” status in France. The museum was renovated in 2001.
