Note: The Kumbh Mela festival returns to Ujjain every 12 Years. The last Kumbh Mela at the town of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh was in 2004. These pictures - scans from film - were shot at this event. The next Kumbh Mela Festival in Ujjain is in 2016 (April and May). The festival also happens in three other cities: Allahabad, Nasik and Haridwar. Please be careful of using any pictures from one of these other festivals to illustrate the Kumbh at Ujjain. They are very different, and look completely different!
