Backfield Bomber

As early as the 1890's but predominately in the 1940's publishers created very inexpensive magazines on pulp paper to satisfy the demand on many children. Most of these publications were fantasy but some were sports themed. Stories by various authors were contained within and the covers may or may not have anything to do with the tales. The art was the major draw for the sales. This is an example of one of the sport titles.
