The Battle of London Bridge, 1014 (1913). The Saxon bridge was pulled down in 1014 by the Norwegian prince Olaf, who was aiding King Aethelred in regaining London from the Danes. The episode is said to have inspired the nursery rhyme London Bridge is Falling Down. Illustration from The Northmen in Britain by Eleanor Means Hull, published 1913.
