The Women's Smithy, Kvindesmedien or Q-Smedien in Christiania is one of Christianias many companies. The smithy has existed sincd 1997 and is known for being an exciting and productive artist workshop producing unique furniture and household goods of high quality often using steel, glass and mirrors. The freetown Christiania, created in a squatted military area in 1971, offers a lot of cultural events, activities, concerts, restaurants, a meaningful, alternative living and solidarity for many people, and production and sale of many useful and solid products, such as the Christiania bike.
