Gage, Commander-in-Chief: Sir: I have the honor to submit the following report, as required bylaw, for the two years ending June 30, 1902, with accompanyingstatistics showing the condition of the enrolled militia of the State, theNational Guard and the Naval Militia. ENROLLED MILITIA. From the reports of the Brigadier Generals for the year 1901, asrequired by Section 1902, Political Code, being the latest reports on file,the total enrolled militia of the State is 226,814. This enrollment is oflittle practical value, and is only made in compliance with the oldmilitia law of the United States, which requires returns of the same tobe made annually to the Adjutant General of the U.
