Morecambe, Lancashire, United Kingdom 25th July 2017 John Wilkinson who is also known as Morecambe’s Bird Man has called plans by Morecambes BID to control the towns Pigeon Population as Barbaric, John from Cavendish Road went to prison for six weeks in 2014 for breaching an anti-social behavior order limiting his bird feeding habits has described the proposals as “Barbaric” Morecambe BID is looking at methods of controlling Morecambe’s pigeons “To eradicate the problem you have to break the breeding cycle and move the birds away from the town. This can be done by way of raptor control (scaring the birds away with birds of prey) and culling.” According to Mr John O’Neil chairman of Morecambes Business Improvement District, which was set up to boost Morecambe’s town center businesses.
