Montelupo, literally "mountain of the wolf", derives its name from a legend according to which the place was inhabited by wolves. The village is situated on the top of a hill of the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in an ideal position from which you can admire beautiful church, dedicated to the Virgin, is one of the most beautiful existing works of Piedmontese Baroque art in the area. The work was completed around the year 1768 as part of a project carried out by Carlo Francesco Rangone, native born architect of Montelupo Albese.
