The splendid interior of the refectory of Holy Trinity - St. Sergius Lavra (monastery), covering 510 square meters and also painted in dazzling checkerboard design, used to be the largest hall in Russia built at the end of 17th century in the "Muscovite Baroque" style on money commissioned from Peter the Great.
