For several years back, both i)roducersand buyers of comb honey have been grad-ually coming to the conviction that strong-er and better shipi)ing-cases are demandedby the trade; and that the policy of buyingthe cheapest shipping-cases that can be ob-tained, or, worse still, having them made atsome local i^laning-mill. would, if continu-ed, ultimately kill the comb-honey business,leaving the field exclusively to extractedhoney or bulk or chunk honey. The veryfact that coml>honey jiroducers have beenchanging over to the i)roduction of extract-ed honey, that extracted honey is constant-ly coming nearer and nearer to the price of. FIG. honey, and that some comb-honeybuyers are refusing to take comb honey anymore, shows only too plainly that the comb-honey business is doomed unless saner andsafer methods are used for shipping the prod-uct; and, furthermore, there are not a fewevidences to show that transportation com-l)anies are liable to advance the rates oncomb honey. Taking all of these thingsinto consideration, the movement towardsaner methods of shipping so fragile a com-modity has begun none too soon. We havebeen informed that several of the manufac-
