The island of Ré (Ile de Ré) is a French island located in the Atlantic Ocean in front of La Rochelle, in the department of Charente-Maritime. It is separated from the mainland to the north by the sluice Breton and the island of Oléron, the south by the openings of Antioch. It is connected to the mainland since 1988, the bridge from the island of Ré.
