A drill instructor from India Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, gives his platoon a command while conducting close order drill at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Jan. 25. Recruits are taught a series of commands and drill movements by their drill instructors that progressively grows throughout recruit training. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. India Company is scheduled to graduate Feb. 24.
