A narrow gauge Steam train waits for its next trip on the quay side at Albert dock despite of the “no Parking” signs.

Over the weekend of 6th to 8th May 2016 “Steam on the dock” was held in Liverpool around the Albert dock area. The main focus of attention was the “Relaunch” of the steam engined tug “Daniel Adamson” that has been restored to working order and had a bottle broken over her bows. The tug was originally built in 1903 by T and J Brocklebank at the Cammell Laird yard on the other side of the Mersey in Birkenhead. The restoration had cost million pounds. There to help the celebrations along a number of steam powered machines where present including a steam locomotive “Lilla” that had come from the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway to provide a chance for people to have a short ride behind a steam engine. “Lilla” was built in 1891 by the Hunslet engine company of Leeds. Here the train waits for its next trip, despite of the “no Parking” signs in front of the Daniel Adamson.
