JohnBrant, fell a victim tothe Asiatic cholera in1832. He devisedhis property to hissister Elizabeth, whobecame the owner ofan ^estate of baronialproportions. She mar-ried her cousin Wil-liam Johnson Kerr,whose blood of a longline of forest kin^swas mingled withthat of the most ancient of the Scottish nobility.
