It is desirable therefore to keep the beesfrom our early flowers. In the case of window orconservatory plants this may be done by the simpleuse of wire or other screens over the openings. A $200 Lesson in Raspberry Planting. It costus at least $300 to learn that Raspberry plants to beset out on sod ground should have this done veryearly wherever Cut-worms abound. Those plant-ed late are here liable to be very badly affected. Itis often stated that in setting Strawberries, avoid. and Trellise Useful in the Bee Yard for Shadesetting upon sod ground, where the white grub isliable to be bad, but we have never observed any-thing written about setting Raspberry plants uponsod ground. A protected bush or plantis necessarily rendered more delicate in a dfgreebecause of protection. To uncover it and submitit to the harsh winds and biting frosts certain tocome after the first spring-like days is to assume agreat and needless risk.
