Tonbridge West Railway Yard with GBRailfreight Class 73 and 66 locomotives


In late winter 2018 Britain experienced a short period of cold and snowy weather. An earlier Stratospheric Warming event caused the UK to experience very cold easterly winds at the end of February and the start of March. The cold snap was termed 'The Beat from The East, by the popular press and caused considerable disruption to transportation.
