There is, however, a certain amount of overlapping, especially by producers having stock of recognized high quality. California.—Commercial queen-breeding is a recent adjunct74 to Cali- fornia beekeeping, and its production has been doubled in the past de- cide (table 23). It is centered in the Sacramento Valley and in the north- ern end of the San Joaquin Valley where natural conditions are favor- able for this specialized business (fig. 25).
