The above picture shows a well arranged combination of Vines and shrubs, the side walls being covered with Ampelopsis Veitchii and the foun- dation planting shows what good effects can be secured with New American or Snowball Hydrangea. The deciduous Vines always give the best results if planted in sunny positions. Shade is required by the evergreen Vines, however, and they may be planted to best advantage in cool exposures.
