A wooden gate on a cobbled path between two houses overlooking the picturesque fishing harbour of Polperro

Polperro (Cornish: Porthpyra) is a village and fishing port on the south-east Cornwall coast in South West England, UK. Situated on the River Pol, 4 miles (6 km) west of the more important resort of Looe and 25 miles (40 km) west of the major city and naval port of Plymouth. A fishing harbour surrounded by tightly packed old fishermen's houses makes it attractive to tourists, and particularly so in the summer months. The larger (eastern) part of the village lies in the parish of Talland, whilst the smaller (western) part lies in the parish of Lansallos.
