Type, S. grisea. Proboscis fully developed ; palpi obliquely upturnerl, tlie 2nd joint reaching about to vertex of head and moderately fringed with scales in front and behind, the 8rd short, porrect; frons smootli ; eyes large, round ; antennie of male minutely ciliated ; thorax clothed almost entirely with scales, the pro- thorax with small spreading crest; the metathorax with paired crest; tibiiie slightly fringed with hair; abdomen with crests on basal segments. Fore wing narrow, the margins subparallel, the apex somewhat produced and acute, the teruien obliquely curved and not crenulate ; veins 3 and 5 from near angle of cell ; 6 from upper angle; 9 from 10 anastomosing with 8 to form the areole ; 11 from cell. Hind wing with veins 3, 4 strongly stalked ; 5 fully developed from just above angle of cell; 6,7 from upper angle ; 8 anastomosing with the cell near base only. 6458. Stenosticta grisea, n. sp. S .
