. The sitter (1709-1766) was the son of w:John Walsh (printer), whose company published the music of Georg Friedrich Händel. Händel was well acquainted with his fellow countryman, Balthasar Denner, and it is likely that it was he who introduced Walsh to the artist Portrait of John Walsh the Younger, three-quarter-length, in a buff suit, holding a cane and hat.
