MODEL RELEASED. Food distribution at a rural village in the Gulu region of northern Uganda. These workers are sorting the sacks into piles. Northern Uganda is the site of an armed rebellion by the Lord's Resistance Army. The intensity of the conflict has increased since 2002, so many people have been displaced into refugee camps by the fighting. This village would be too small to support a large number of local refugees (known as 'internally displaced persons') entering it, so it needs the extra food to enable all those living in it to survive.
