The Pol-e Khaju (Pol means bridge), Isfahan, Iran,also known as the Bridge of 24 Arches, was built around 1650 by the Safavid Dynasty ruler Shah Abbas II, This is the most beautiful and one of the longest bridges (133 meters) on the Zayandeh River that flows through Isfahan, Iran, and is a famous example of Safavid bridge design. Its elegant design shows to great advantage when it is lit up at night and reflected in the river. It is a center of Iranian social life at night.
