Copenhagen Airport handles 60 scheduled airlines and serves more than 62,000 passengers per day; million passengers passed through the facility in 2012, making it the busiest airport in the Nordic countries, with a maximum capacity of 83 loadings/hour and with room for 108 airplanes. The overall design of Terminal 3 was inspired by an aircraft wing and consists of two double, curved trinagles on either side of a ribbon skylight that runs the length of the building. From the moment they arrive at the airport, this wing reminds passengers of the journey they are about to make. The distinctive row of 22 m columns that run through the building support the roof and allow the space below to be flooded with light, creating a feeling of almost monumental dimensions. This openness and light also provide an overall view of the terminal and make it easy for people to find their way around.
