Laser eye surgery preparation. Doctor using a machine to measure a patient's eye in preparation for excimer laser refractive surgery. This machine makes corneal topography measurements. The device projects bright rings onto the eye, which are reflected in its surface. By studying the reflection, an accurate model can be built up of the shape of the cornea. Excimer laser refractive surgery uses an excimer laser, a type of laser suitable for use on human tissue, to correct the refractive state of the eye.
