Gen. Hoyle, 1917 or 1918. Eli DuBose Hoyle (1851-1921) who served as Army Brigadier General and Commander of the Port of Embarkation at Governors Island, New York City during World War I. Hoyle is probably in his office at the Army headquarters for the Military Division of the Atlantic and Department of the East, Governors Island.
