Furthermore, all of the small bulbs like Snow- drops, Chionodoxa, Scilla, Fritillaria, Galanthus, Bro- diaea, Calochortus, Crocus, Muscari, Sternbergia, Leu- cojum, and Eranthis present valuable material to create a picture of great interest. The graceful Triandrus albus These lovely Narcissus are particularly suited to plant- ing in the rock garden. Placed in groups of six or more bulbs, they add a charming effect to the spring display of the garden. In addition to the varieties described below all of the Jonquils but particularly the Single Sweet-Scented variety are exceptionally fine for rock garden planting. Bulbicodium COnspicuuS (The Hoop Petticoat Nar- cissus). This lovely little treasure grows only 6 inches high. It has attractive rush-like foliage and dainty golden yellow blooms as early as the middle of March.
