This prehistoric mammoth ivory artefact was produced by the Gravettian toolmaking culture of Europe, and dates from between 25,000 and 30,000 years ago, during the Upper Palaeolithic. This tusk is from Dolni Vestonice, in the Czech Republic. It is part of the collections held at the Natural History Museum, London, UK.
