The 14 plates (including frontispiece) counting first edition of the Carceri' series was published by Giovanni Bouchard Rome between 1749-1750. This first edition of the series is titled "Invenzioni Capric di Carceri all Acquaforte. The second edition Piranesi himself gave out in 1761.
