Chinese invention 1313. Crank in the form of eccentric lug, fitted with connecting-rod and hand to hand bar to allow of the simultaneous labor of several persons at a grain hulling mill. A gristmill grinds grain into flour. The term can refer to both the grinding mechanism and the building that holds it.
