Fresco of vineyard workers on a wall at the entrance to the Virgin of Carrodilla Church, Mendoza, Argentina

Iglesia La Carrodilla (Church of the Virgin of Carodilla) was built in 1840 and was the only church in Mendoza to survive the 1861 earthquake. The mosaic artwork above the entrance was made in the City of Rosario by Salvador Spinato and represents the Virgin Mary on a cart in the vineyards. The Virgin of Carrodilla is the Patron Saint of Mendoza's vineyards and grape harvests. The oak carved image inside the church (above the altar in the shot) is lifted up and carried in procession in Mendoza's National Wine Harvest Festival (Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia) in late February and early March. Wall frescoes illustrating vineyard scenes stand near the entrance church.
