He has long been a valued mem-ber of the Chicago Bar and the Illinois State Bar associations, whilehis naval experience is recalled by his life membership in the FarragutBoat Club and his activity in the organization of the Illinois NavalReserve. Judge Wait was married May 7, i860, to Chara Conant Long,and they have become the parents of James Joseph and Henry Heile-man Wait.
