Warrington, Cheshire. 30th. March 2017: Environmental protesters target Eddie Stobart Logistics headquarters in Warrington. Eddie Stobart Logistics is the road haulage group which has been supplying tankers of lime or cement to the controversial shale gas fracking site being developed for Cuadrilla Resources at Preston New Road, Little Plumpton near Blackpool. Both local opinion and Lancashire County Council were against plans for Cuadrilla to carry out an exploratory shale frack for methane but were overuled by Sajid Javid. The protesters arrived at 03:00 hours and locked themselves together in protest Eddie Stobart Logistics delivering to the controversial exploratory fracking site. A few miles away at Eddie Stobart Logistics Head Office at Appleton Thorn, near Warrington, another small group of environmental campaigners against fracking carried out a 'pop up' protest and slow walked several trucks off-site which delayed them for over an hour. Protesters stated that Lancashire Police are denying them their lawful right of protest with 'slow walks' which were accepted tactics at Balcombe, Barton Moss and other protests and due to this they have had to move their protests further afield and target businesses supplying Cuadrilla or their site. Several companies have already ceased supplying the Cuadrilla site due to these protests which they refer to as 'pop-up' protests.
