Robertson on his Eagle bicycle lowered the record of forty-three minutesmade on July 4, 1887, by Percy Sevfferbe, starting from Ninth and G Streets and ending at Cabin John,making the distance ten miles. Robertson started at 11:21 , reaching Cabin John thirty-eightminutes after, beating the record by five minutes. Timers, Messrs. Smiley and Sickle.
